A new sun cooling system was developed by SunFoss S.A. in cooperation with experts from Denmark and Luxembourg based on an invention that won the 1999 Young Researchers' Award in Denmark (a so-called "sun stove"). The sun cooler Ice By Sun is constructed so as to produce ice from the energy of the sun and is designed to produce up to 75 lb of ice a day. Wahlberg Light & Motion Design provided the electronic expertise to construct a 2.4 m² solar energy concentrator that turns in the course of a day, following the passage of the sun across the sky. The Ice By Sun machine was first displayed at the CO2030 exhibit in Aarhus, March 2009.
