The Bike Mix Machine is a Harley Davidson driven drink machine, also created by Mads Wahlberg.
The installation was created with the purpose of mixing drinks for the guests at the Skanderborg Festival in Denmark in 2006.
The Bike Machine consists of a Harley Davidson motorbike with various mechanical and electrical mechanisms controlled by a computer and built into a 6 metre long and 3 metre high open container.
The user places him- or herself at the bike and fires it up.
The rear wheel rotates on a pulley which in turn drives a huge fan which blows air into the machinery.
The air then moves a small ball which rolls into the ingredient selector. By controlling the handlebar the user is capable of choosing the ingredients he or she wants to put in the drink.
Then the ball enters an oversize pinball machine, and the user plays a game of pinball using the flasher lamp switches. If the user plays well he or she gets double up on the alcohol after 30 seconds. If not, the ball moves on to the soft drink selector.
After adding the choosen soft drink, the user may jump of the bike and enjoy the finished drink. The drink mixing procedure last 3 minutes in total.
